About WebNutritionist.com’s Dietitian:
Sarah Amer, MS, RD, CDN

SarahSarah Amer has a passion for nutrition and enhancing lives through healthy eating.  She specializes in weight management for both adults and children, disease prevention, medical nutrition therapy, and food sensitivity therapy.  A firm believer in evidence-based nutrition, she offers nutrition guidance based only on solid research, not the latest fad diets recommended by celebrities and other self-proclaimed nutrition experts.  Don't let her compassionate smile fool you! Sarah will hold you accountable to mutually agreed upon health and behavior goals to ensure your success. She provides one-on-one and group counseling out of offices in Woodcliff Lake and Haledon, NJ and virtually over the web and telephone.

In addition to counseling, Sarah does freelance work for organizations, schools, publications, and healthcare consulting agencies, and serves on expert advisory boards for nutrition, fitness, and food industry businesses. Sarah is also the Chair-Elect of Muslims in Dietetics and Nutrition (MIDAN), a member interest group of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the largest organization of food and nutrition professionals in the world.

Sarah is a Registered Dietitian and New York Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist by training with over eight years of nutrition experience in clinical, corporate, community, wellness, and private practice settings.  She is a magna cum laude graduate of New York University, where she earned bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in nutrition.  Her nutrition training was completed at New York University’s highly competitive dietetic internship program in affiliation with the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  Sarah continues to keep abreast of the latest nutrition research and trends through her membership in several ADA practice groups and regular attendance at continuing education conferences and events nationwide.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, climbing, playing with her 4-year-old son, and yes, eating, too (in moderation, of course)!

"You've done more for me in three visits
than any doctor has done for me over my entire life."
