Sarah Amer is a Registered Dietitian and New York Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist with over seven years of nutrition experience in clinical, corporate, community, and wellness settings. She is a magna cum laude graduate of New York University, where she earned bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in nutrition. Her nutrition training was completed at New York University’s highly competitive dietetic internship program in affiliation with the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Sarah has a passion for nutrition and enhancing lives through healthy eating. She specializes in weight control, disease prevention and management, and food sensitivity therapy. A firm believer in evidence-based nutrition, she offers nutrition guidance based only on solid research, not the latest fad diets recommended by celebrities and other self-proclaimed nutrition experts. She provides counseling in person at the upscale New Jersey fitness club where she serves as Nutrition Director as well as online and over the telephone.
In addition to counseling individuals, Sarah does freelance work for organizations, schools, and publications, and serves on expert advisory boards for nutrition and food businesses.
Sarah keeps abreast of the latest nutrition research and trends through her membership with the American Dietetic Association and frequent attendance at continuing education conferences and events nationwide.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, climbing, and yes, eating, too (in moderation, of course)! She resides in New York’s Hudson Valley with her husband and three-year old son.
